Mountain Fables sells its Plantae products by dry volume rather than by weight. Selling by dry volume means a product is measured and sold according to the amount of space it occupies. Mountain Fables offers three standard U.S. customary dry volume sizes: gallon, quart, and pint, each packaged in a convenient slider bag.

Plantae is a dry product, as apposed to liquid, so the weight is referred to as dry volume. Each Plantae bag is generously filled to the brim, resulting in a weight that exceeds standard bag unit measurements. Because the plantae is not weighed and sold by the ounce, but rather by a standard bag size, you receive a much greater amount of plantae for a considerably less price.

Mountain Fables uses Gallon, Quart, and Pint Slider Zipper Bags (Slider Bags) to provide familiar measurements while ensuring optimal freshness.
For long term storage divide the contents of your original bag into smaller portions. Transfer the portions into air tight jars or re-pack into several new, sturdy slider bags. By splitting the order into multiple bags or containers you can use the amount needed and cut down on oxygen exposure to the unused portion. This will help keep the unused portion of plantae fresh.
Dried Plantae has a long shelf life as long as it is not exposed to oxygen or moisture and is placed in an area that is dark or has a minimum of light.

Bag Fill Information

🌿The leaves, stems, and flowers of each plant species naturally vary in size, texture, and density. This means that bag fill will vary slightly among Plantae species. Same species bag fill appearance can vary slightly from one bag to another as well. Because each plant within a species has a unique shape and structure, minor variations in how the contents settle are natural.

Settling during handling or shipping may also change the appearance of the fill, but this is purely cosmetic, the weight and volume remain consistent. Despite these visual differences, you can rest assured that every Craft Plantae bag is individually weighed to ensure fill consistency. Mountain Fables uses a postal scale for consistency measurements.

A 3lb. bag of onions is a great example of dry volume pricing. One bag may be made up of 5 medium size onions while another has 6 smaller onions, but appearance aside it all adds up to a 3lb bag of onions, which both sell for the same price.
