Here's What's Going On Today!

NOTE: The Weather Widget is auto filled for New York State. It may show varying NYS cities from time to time. Ms. J's Mountain temperatures may vary a bit by a few degrees. If there are major differences it will be noted below the widget as a "Weather Notice".

How Mountain Weather Impacts You

Weather plays a significant role in shaping life on the mountain. It governs everything from the nursery's planting and growing conditions to the processing of nursery products.  Seasonal weather conditions can also impact non-nursery items such as art or dry goods. Not often, but occasionally, extreme weather can cause power outages, effecting communication and shipping.

Extreme Weather Conditions

  1. Ms. J's Mountain is located in a high elevation rural setting which does not   receive USPS mail delivery or pick-up.
  2.  A personal visit to the post office is necessary to handle USPS shipments. Therefore, during winter, shipping times may be affected by weather and road conditions, so I appreciate your patience and understanding.
  3. I will always message you, provided there is no power outage, and keep you aware of the situation.
  4. If there is a power outage I will message you with information as soon as power returns.

Services Are Effected During Outages

Power outages affect website updates, messaging communication, sales monitoring, and shipping. While some outages occur during severe weather, they can also happen unexpectedly during calm conditions. An outage can effect two  parts of the communication grid, Electric Delivery and Fiber. WIFI is provided through the electric lines and sometimes Fiber is disrupted by an electrical outage event,  This means there may be two agencies that need to make independent repairs: the electric and the phone/WIFI company.

In the event of an outage, messages and updates will resume as soon as soon as possible , upon completion of any necessary repairs by governing agency.

Thanks for your understanding!
